Bom dia alegria! Há qualquer coisa de mágico nas ruas lavadas pela chuva. Claro que todos gostamos mais desta quando estamos a vê-la cair do lado de fora da nossa janela, no conforto de casa e que no dia-a-dia é tão mais prático quando não chove mas, não sei... Há um encanto qualquer nas ruas, como se brilhassem... Há mesmo qualquer coisa de magia.
Dia quinze do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Uma saia lápis, preta combinada com uma t-shirt branca. Duas peças muito básicas e que à partida poderíamos achar que não combinam - uma t-shirt muito casual com uma saia elegante - mas para mim tem tudo a ver com equilíbrio. Gosto de misturar peças de contextos diferentes, só assim fazem sentido no meu estilo pessoal. Uma saia preta, modelo lápis ou travada, dependendo do estilo de corpo, é uma daquelas peças em que vale a pena investir pois se o tecido e a confecção forem de qualidade, pode durar muitos anos, já que nunca sai de moda. Esta foi mandada fazer, por medida, à minha modista de há muitos anos e que presta tanta atenção ao detalhe quanto eu. Para complementar o outfit juntei o blusão de cabedal rosa pálido, uma mala padrão cobra e uns botins pretos com fecho dourado à frente. Neste caso optei por deixar os botins contrastarem com a cor da pele, deixando-os sobressair. Isto só é possível porque a saia, sendo ligeiramente acima do joelho, respeita perfeitamente a regra dos três terços. Um cinto ouro-rosa e um colar statement dourado finalizam o look desta quarta-feira.

Good morning sunshine! There is something magical in the streets washed by rain. Of course we all like it best when watching it fall outside our window, in the comfort of home and that in our everyday life, it is so much more practical when it is not raining but, I don't know... There's a certain charm to the streets, almost like their glowing... There really is something of magic.
Day fifteen of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: A black pencil skirt paired with a white t-shirt. Two basic garments that we might think wouldn't go together - a t-shirt is a very casual element and a pencil skirt is oh so elegant - but for me it's all about balance. I like to mix and match pieces of different contexts, that's the only way they make sense in my personal style. A black, pencil or straight cut skirt is one of those garments worth investing because if you have quality fabric and sewing, it will last for years, since it never goes out of style. This one was custom made for me, by my seamstress of many years, that pays as much attention to detail as do I. To complement the attire I added my pale pink bicker jacket, a snake printed handbag and black booties with a golden zipper on top. In this case I chose to let the the booties contrast with the skin color, letting them stand out. This is only possible because the skirt, being slightly above the knee, perfectly respects the three thirds rule. A golden-rose belt and a golden statement necklace finish up this Wednesday outfit.

Bom dia alegria! Ainda só hoje é terça-feira e parece que a semana já começou há imenso tempo. Não que esteja saturada mas porque entre tantas solicitações e trabalho adiantado entre ontem e hoje, parece-me que já passaram vários dias. Há semanas assim, em que realmente conseguimos manter-nos focados e fazer render o tempo e isso é bom.
Dia catorze do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Vestido de dia com uma blusa branca por baixo, combinados com meias e botins pretos. Quando usamos um vestido ou saia abaixo do joelho, é importante combinar a cor das meias e dos sapatos, a fim de conseguirmos manter proporções favorecedoras, especialmente quando falamos de botins, que facilmente nos cortam a silhueta. A mala vermelha e o colar de pedraria vêm dar o tão apreciado toque de cor.

Good morning sunshine! It's only Tuesday and it seems that the week has long started. Not that I'm tired but because, among so many requests and advanced work, between yesterday and today, it just seems that more days have passed. Some weeks are just like that, your focus just seems unshakable, you do better time management and just get stuff done, which is great.
Day fourteen of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: A silk withe blouse under a day dress, paired with black tights and booties. When wearing a bellow the knee dress or skirt, it's important to match the color of your shoes to your tights, in order to elongate your legs, therefor maintaining flattering proportions. Specially with booties, which can easily cut your silhouette shorter. The red bag and jeweled necklace, give it the appreciated touch of color.

Bom dia alegria! Ah, sexta-feira... Sabe bem chegar ao fim da semana, verdade? E nem importa o tempo que vai fazer no fim-de-semana porque sempre se arranjam programas alternativos. O que importa mesmo é aproveitar cada dia, com chuva ou com sol, para fazermos aquilo de que gostamos e estarmos junto das pessoas que nos são especiais. Afinal, não há arco-íris sem chuva!
Dia dez do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Para hoje um look bem diferente do lady-like de ontem. Eu gosto de variar, de experimentar, de brincar com o guarda-roupa, de me divertir. É tão mais fácil sentir-mo-nos bem na nossa pele quando nos levamos menos a sério! Para termos o à-vontade de o fazer, basta conhecermos o nosso corpo, compreendermos o que favorece o nosso biótipo e aprendermos a vesti-lo. Hoje, porque é sexta-feira e eu adoro denim, conjuguei os meus jeans favoritos com um básico preto e um cardigan. Os botins em pele de cor camel dão-lhe um ar cool, enquanto os acessórios lhe conferem um toque de elegânciadespretensiosa, ao mesmo tempo que o mantêm divertido.

Good morning sunshine! Oh, Friday... It feels good to get to the end of the week, doesn't it? And it doesn't even matter the weather we'll be getting on the weekend, you can always find alternative things to do. What really matters is that you enjoy each day, come rain or sun, doing what it is that you love and being with the people that are special to you. After all, there's no rainbow without the rain!
Day ten of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: For today, something completely different from yesterday's lady-like outfit. I like to vary, to experiment, to play with my wardrobe, to have fun. It's so much easier to feel good in your own skin, when you're not taking yourself too serious! In order for you to feel comfortable doing so, you just have to know your body, understand your biotype and dress for it. Today, because it's Friday and I love denim, I paired my favorite jeans with a black basic top and a leopard printed cardigan. The camel, leather booties give it a cool look, whilst the accessories provide an unpretentious elegance while keeping it fun.

Duas peças muito versáteis, que compõem qualquer outfit e muito resistentes, como convém. Para hoje a escolha recaiu sobre o biker, combinado com calças de corte recto, pretas e uma blusa branca. Duas peças potencialmente clássicas que são aqui elevadas pelo blusão e pelos botins com fecho dourado ao centro. Um colar statement (um leão) dourado e a mala à cor do blusão, completam o outfit que assim resulta num look clássico e intemporal mas ao mesmo tempo moderno e actual.

Day eight of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: Because Fall as indeedarrived, it is time to put your trenches and leather jackets to good use. Two very versatile garments that are able to compose any outfit, while being very resistant, as they should be. For today I went with the biker, paired with black, straight cut pants and a white shirt. Two potentially classical pieces that are hereby elevated by the leather jacket and the booties with a golden zipper on top. A statement, golden necklace (a leo) and the handbag in a similar hue of the biker, complement the attire making it both classic and moderne; timeless and current.

Bom dia alegria! Espero que a vossa semana tenha começado bem. A minha começou atarefada mas não me queixo. Gosto quando assim é. Esta semana parece que o Outono chega em força... Será? Quem já fez a arrumação sazonal do seu guarda-roupa que se acuse! Eu já fiz mas ainda tenho as minhas peças de transição à mão. Aliás, em boa verdade, há algumas peças que uso todo o ano, como por exemplo as peças básicas. E o Outono é a altura ideal para as usar, conjugadas com outras peças mais elegantes.
Dia sete do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Fato calça-casaco conjugado com um básico ao tom do blazer e sapatos contrastantes. Na realidade, o vermelho é um degrade do rosa ou vice-versa, embora a olho nu nos pareçam cores contrastantes. Tecnicamente, todo o look está construído em degrade - vermelho, rosa, bordeaux - mas porque são cores que vemos poucas vezes combinadas entre si, há sempre alguma resistência ao olhar. Eu adoro e apesar do rosa não entrar na minha paleta de cores, estou sempre a usá-lo. É uma cor que me anima e que imediatamente confere a qualquer outfit um caracter feminino.

Good morning sunshine! I hope your week is starting well. Mine as had a busy start but I'm not complaining. In fact, I like it. This week it seems like the Fall is arriving in full force... Is it? Who has made the seasonal closet cleaning raise your hand (or post below!)! I did, but still have my transitional garments at hand. In fact there are several items that I wear all year long, such as basics. And Autumn is the perfect time to wear them, paired with other, more elegant garments.
Day seven of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: Pants and jacket suit paired with a basic shirt in the same shade as the blazer and contrasting shoes. In fact, pink is a downgrade of red, although at the naked eye, they appear to be contrasting colors. Technically, the all outfit is built gradient - red, pink, burgundy - but because we don't see this colors pairs amongst them very often, there's always some visual resistance. I love it and although pink is not in my color palette, I wear it all the time. Just because it's a color that inspires me and immediately gives femininity to any attire.

Bom dia alegria! Hoje começa uma semana novinha em folha e, para mim, uma semana nova tem sempre cheiro de novo começo. Não seria tão mais simples se todos acreditássemos que a cada segunda-feira podemos reinventar a nossa vida? Pode parecer um pouco ingénuo, quase como acreditar no Pai-Natal ou no Coelho da Páscoa ou pode apenas ser uma visão optimista. A verdade é que podemos reinventar-nos todos os dias e não apenas às segundas. Sempre que a vida não nos esteja a correr de feição, temos o poder de dizer basta e começar de novo. A vida é boa e vale tanto a pena ser vivida (cliché ou não), não como se fosse uma tarefa que temos que completar mas aproveitar cada dia, cada momento, cada emoção. Se eu consigo? Nem sempre. Sou apenas humana como todos vós mas tento. Tento sempre ser melhor, tento sempre fazer melhor, tento aprender com tudo o que me acontece e com todos os que me cruzo e acredito que não existem coincidências e que tudo acontece por uma razão (boa ou menos boa) e, acima de tudo, decido a cada manhã, ser positiva. Ninguém disse que era fácil mas de certeza que vale a pena... Estar vivo é uma dádiva.
Dia seis do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Saia lápis preta, básico nude e cardigan de padrão leopardo. Um cinto fino faz toda a diferença quando pretendemos marcar a cintura e favorecer a silhueta. Os sapatos dourados dão um toque diferente, quase festivo que eu pessoalmente sempre gosto de trazer para o dia-a-dia. Sempre me lembro, desde miúda, de gostar de estrear roupa nova no dia a seguir de comprar. Nunca fui a menina que guarda os bons vestidos para ir à missa.

Good morning sunshine! Today starts a brand new week and, for me, a new week always feels like a fresh start. Wound't it be simpler if we all believed that we can reinvent our lives every Monday? May seem naive, almost like believing in Santa or the Easter Bunny or it might just be a positive way of thinking. The truth is that we can reinvent ourselves every day. Whenever life is not going your way, you can just stop and start over. Life is good and it's so worth living it (cliché as it may sound), not as it was a task that you must get over with but seizing every day, every moment, every emotion. Can I do it? Not always. I'm just as human as any of you but I certainly try. I try to be better all the time, I try to do better, I do my best to learn with everything and everyone that comes into my life, for whatever reason and I do not believe in coincidences but I do believe that everything happens for a reason (good and not so good) and, most of all, every morning, I choose to be positive. No one ever said it would be easy but it is certainly worth it... Being alive is a blessing.
Day six of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: Pencil skirt, nude basic and a leopard printed cardigan. A thin belt always make a difference when trying to accentuate your waist and highlighting your silhouette. The golden shoes give it a special touch, almost festive, that I personally like to bring to my every day wardrobe. Ever since I was a little girl I remember wanting to put on new clothes, the minute I got them. I was never that child that saves the good outfit for mass!

Os meus loafers de padrão serpente, a mala vermelha, skinny rings, uma pulseira dourada e um colar de brilhantes tiram este look do sofá para um brunch, uma ida ao cinema ou um almoço em família.

Good morning beautiful! I hope your weekend is as pleasurable as mine. Sunday is generally a day to rest and this week I really was in desperate need of that extra hour of sleep. It is also one of the few days of the week that we manage to start the day doing exercise, instead of leaving for the end of the day. And how great it feels to start the day with a run!
Day five of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: A casual and comfy attire. My boyfriend jeans, a t-shirt and an oversized cardigan are the chosen garments for a lazy Sunday, with family and without plans. My snake printed loafers, a red shoulder bag, skinny rings, a golden bracelet and jeweled necklace take this outfit from coach to brunch, movies or a family lunch.

Bom dia alegria! Que bem que sabe acordar num sábado de Outono, com sol e temperatura amena. Verdade? Apetece passear, almoçar numa esplanada, conversar com boa companhia e, mesmo quando temos que trabalhar - como foi hoje o meu caso - apetece arranjar forma de conciliar tudo. Felizmente tive a sorte de conseguir isso mesmo. E que bem que sabe chegar ao final de um dia cheio, que começou cedo, com a sensação de dever cumprido, como se o dia tivesse tido o dobro das horas... Adoro.
Dia quatro do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Um outfit casual, descontraído, salpicado por alguns acessórios que lhe dão o tempero necessário para que seja tudo menos aborrecido. Os meus jeans boyfriend e um básico branco são os parceiros ideais para colocar em evidencia o blusão de cabedal, rosa-pálido, uma carteira com padrão serpente e uns botins statement com fecho dourado à frente. Os skinny rings de brilhantes e a conjugação de colares dourado com brilhantes ajudam a completar o outfit, tornado-o ideal para passar facilmente do dia agitado que tive, para um jantar romântico (estou a pensar em sushi, hum...) e depois tomar um copo com amigos. Mais versátil seria quaseimpossível... Se eu acreditasse em impossíveis!

Good morning gorgeous! How amazing it feels, to wake up in an Autumn morning with the sun shining on your window and warm temperatures. It makes you want to go out, take a long walk, have lunch on a terrace, have a nice, long conversation with someone special and, even when you have to work - as I did today - you just feel like making it work and find time to do it all. So lucky of me to have accomplished just that today. And how amazing it feels to get to the end of a busy, early start day, with this sense of accomplishment, as if you doubled the hour of the day. I love it.
Day four of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: A casual, relaxed, outfit, sprinkled by some accessories that give it just the right amount of edginess, making it everything but boring. My boyfriend jeans and a white t-shirt are the ideal partners to highlight the pale pink biker jacket, a snake printed clutch and a pair of statement booties with a golden zipper up front. The jeweled skinny rings and the golden and jeweled necklaces combination, help compliment the all outfit, making it perfect to transition from the busy day that I had, to a romantic dinner (I'm thinking sushi...), to drinks with friends. It doesn't get more versatile than this, right?!

Bom dia alegria! Finalmente chegámos ao dia favorito de muitos, verdade? Sexta-feira!! Eu também gosto muito de chegar a este dia. Mesmo quando tenho trabalho agendado para o fim‑de‑semana, sempre conseguimos encontrar tempo para fazer algo diferente, pois o meu marido não trabalha aos fins-de-semana... Só por isso já sabe tão bem chegar a sexta-feira!

Os meus jeans favoritos e um básico branco são tela para uma gabardina com detalhes dourados na gola, um colar statement, uma pulseira dourada (na realidade é um colar mas que eu sempre uso deste modo), uns sapatos de salto alto com detalhes e uma mala vermelha. Cores neutras que dançam em harmonia, salpicadas pelos apontamentos de cor que a mala e o colar lhe conferem.

Good morning gorgeous! It's finally here the favorite day of the week for so many of you, right? Friday! I also like this day a lot. Even when I have work schedule for the weekend, we always find a way to make something different or just spend time together, my husband and I, because he doesn't work on the weekends. That alone makes this day feel so special!
Day three of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: A casual outfit that intents to demonstrate how we can take a couple of basics and transforme that into an elegante attire. My favorite pair of jeans and a white basic, are the canvas for a trench with golden detailing on the
collar, a statement necklace, a golden bracelet (that it's actually a necklace but I always wear it like this), black high heels with beautiful detailing and a red handbag. Neutral colors dancing in harmony, peppered by touches of color given by the handbag and necklace.

Dia dois do desafio "guarda-roupa essencial à prova": Calças de fato bordeaux com padrão geométrico, blusa de seda branca, stilettos pretos, um colar dourado statement e mala de padrão serpente. O padrão da mala vai um pouco de encontro ao padrão geométrico o que faz com que, apesar de serem totalmente diferentes, se complementem muito bem.

Good morning sunshine! A fabulous Thursday to you all. I hope your week is being as productive as mine. I have to say that I'm having a pretty inspired one and that feels great.
Day two of the "essential wardrobe to the test" challenge: burgundy pants suit with a geometrical pattern, white silk blouse, black stilettos, a golden statement necklace and a snake printed handbag. The shape of the pattern in both the handbag and the pants are a bit similar, therefor making them very complementary, although totally different.

É isso mesmo, este mês pomos à prova o chamado "Guarda-roupa Essencial". Todos os livros nesta matéria, referem que as mulheres podem viver com muito menos roupa do que a que têm no seu closet, dando-nos directrizes de como consegui-lo. Como muitos saberão, eu sou consultora de imagem, como tal eu própria incluo este capitulo nos dossiers de estilo que entrego às minhas clientes depois de cada consulta, deixando-as com uma ideia do que elas devem mesmo ter no seu guarda-roupa, nas palavras da Nina Garcia "os ossos do guarda-roupa". Mas alguma vez tentei viver apenas com esta "meia-dúzia" de peças? Definitivamente não. Como todas as mulheres tenho muitas mais coisas no meu closet do que realmente uso. Assim, este Outubro será dedicado a provar a veracidade deste conceito (espero!). Outubro tem 31 dias aos quais corresponderão 31 outfits, com base no guarda-roupa essencial.
Naturalmente e para que não existam dúvidas, começarei por vos dizer quais as peças que compõe a minha directriz para o guarda-roupa essencial, bem como as peças que escolhi para o representarem neste desafio. Posto isto, tentarei viver um mês inteiro apenas com estas peças, muitos sapatos e imensos acessórios - Felizmente estes não são contados! Espero que gostem dos looks que vão resultar deste desafio (e para mim será realmente um grande desafio!) e, por favor, deixem o vosso feedback à medida que formos avançando.

As minhas directrizes para o Guarda-roupa Essencial:
Para que o Guarda-roupa Essencial seja tão versátil e funcional quanto possível, devemos preferir cores neutras. Deste modo, será mais simples coordenar as peças entre si. Para quem, como eu, gosta de inserir alguma cor nos seus outfits, podem deixar essa tarefa a cargo dos acessórios.
Quanto às minhas escolhas para este exercício, aqui ficam.
E aqui fica o outfit 1:
Vestido de dia, modelo lápis (se viram o video acima, foi a minha escolha de vestido de dia para este exercício), de cor cinza. Porque este é um vestido muito simples, em algodão, podemos aproveitar para ser mais criativos com os acessórios. Assim, combinei uns stilettos rosa pálido com uma clutch oversize, uma pulseira de pedraria, um cinto fino dourado-rosado e um lenço, por dentro do cinto, com padrão floral e que vai buscar alguns dos tons do restante outfit. Ideal para o escritório, para um jantar a dois ou tomar um copo com as amigas. Muito versátil, como se pretende!

That's right, this month I'm putting the so called "Essential Wardrobe" to the test. Every book on the matter says women can live with much less in their closet, giving us numerous guidelines to do so. As many of you now by now, I am an image consultant, therefor I also include this chapter on my analises compounds, leaving my clients with an idea on what they absolutely should have in their wardrobe, in Nina Garcia's words, "the bones of the wardrobe". But have I ever really tried to live with just those "couple" garments? Absolutely not. As all women I have way more in my closet than I actually use. So, this October will be dedicated to prove the concept right (hopefully!). October has 31 days which correspond to 31 looks, based on the essential wardrobe.
Naturally and so there's no doubt, I will start by introducing what garments are in my "Essencial Wardrobe" guideline and which pieces I picked to represent them in this challenge. Then, I will try to live an entire month, with just those garments and a lot of shoes and accessories - Thank God these are not numbered! I hope you like this month's looks and challenge (it certainly will be a huge challenge for me) and please let me know what you think about it as we go along.

My Essencial Wardrobe Guideline:
In order for the Essential Wardrobe to be as functional and versatile as possible, you should prefer neutral colors. This way it will be easier to coordinate the garments amongst them. If you like pops of color you can leave that to the accessories.
As far as my choices for the challenge, here's what I chose.
And here you have, Outfit number 1:
A lady-like dress (if you saw the video above, this was my choice of a day dress for this exercise), in a grey hue. Because this is a very simple, cotton dress, we can get creative when accessorizing. Therefor, I paired pale pink stilettos with a red oversized clutch, a jeweled bracelet, a narrow rose-golden belt and a floral printed scarf, tucked in the belt. The hues on the floral print match some of the remaining shades of the outfit, therefor creating harmony. Perfect for the office, a date-night or drinks with your girlfriends. Very versatile, as it should be!
