RCM, Stylist: August Look

Agosto é mais um mês especial - quase poderia dizer que o meu verão é todo ele muito especial, pois não faltam aniversário de família por esta altura do ano. A minha melhor metade faz anos neste mês e como eu adoro fazer surpresas boas às pessoas que amo, este ano a surpresa foi um bolo de aniversário muito especial. O Rui cresceu a conhecer os gelados do Santini, em Cascais e é fã incondicional destes. Assim, este ano consegui juntar dois sabores vencedores, o gelado favorito do meu amor, com um bolo de aniversário (ou perto disso!); que é como quem diz "O Melhor Bolo de Chocolate do Mundo" com gelado de morango, tudo by Santini. E que bela surpresa que foi pois ele não estava mesmo nada à espera. Foi lindo! Antes disso maravilhá-mo-nos com uns belos petiscos no Boteco da Linha - que foi aliás onde o Rui foi, depois, surpreendido pela sua grande surpresa de aniversário - este sitio é muito simples e patusco, de decoração vintage e ambiente descontraído, também servem pratos mas nós perdemos-nos nos peixinhos da horta, croquetas de alheira, cogumelos salteados, presas de porco preto, pimentos de padrón e já vos falei da sangria de espumante? É maravilhosa! Além de tudo são super simpáticos e prestáveis e foram uma ajuda imprescindível para que a surpresa final decorresse sem percalços nem suspeitas.

August is another special month - I could really say that my entire Summer is always pretty special, since there is no shortage of family birthdays this time of the year. So my hubby's birthday was this month and as I love to surprise him, this year I manage to get his favorite ice-cream flavors and ice-cream brand in a very special birthday cake. The place it's called Santini - it's in Cascais, you can look it up if you ever come to Portugal - and the perfect combination of flavors, as far as Rui is concerned are strawberry & chocolate. And so this place also happens to have what they call "The best chocolate cake in the world"... Imagine this with a side of strawberry ice-cream... AMAZING! So did the birthday boy thought. He really wasn't expecting and was super happy... and so was I. But before we lost our minds with some delicious entrees at the Boteco da Linha - this one is in São Pedro do Estoril, not that far from Santini. They have great food and a delicious sangria. Also they are super friendly and helpful and that made all the diference for my surprise to go smoothly, as planed.

Ah! Pois é, o look do mês... Já me esquecia! Um look desenfadado, descontraído e trendy com a mala que nesta altura ainda estava novinha e eu desejosa de a estrear (minha prendinha de aniversário!). As calças boyfriend são uma óptima forma de usar calças brancas sem criar volume na anca e a t-shirt apenas ligeiramente por dentro cria a assimetria necessária para que o look resulte como um todo. As sandálias prata dão-lhe o toque de elegância que compõe tudo e faz dele o coordenado perfeito para um almoço de domingo. Os acessórios são mínimos e maquilhagem inexistente, afinal este é um outfit pós-férias e todos nós demoramos algum tempo a voltar à rotina. Mas sabem que mais, às vezes os looks mais simples são aqueles de cujo resultado final gostamos mais!

Oh! That's right, about this month outfit... I almost forgot! It's casual, relaxed, non-boring and trendy look with the newest add to my handbag collection - it was a birthday present from my husband and I ended up debuting it on his birthday. How cute are we!? The boyfriend jeans are a great way to wear white pants without looking wider on the hips and the slightly tucked in tee, creates just the right amount of asymmetry to make the attire work. The silver sandals give it the necessary amount of elegance to put the all thing together and making it perfect for a Sunday lunch or brunch. The accessories were minimal and the makeup inexistent, this was after all, a after-vacation outfit and we all know that it takes time for the routine to settle in again. But you know what, that's fine, sometimes the simplest looks are the ones that turn out the best!
